  • 5 tablespoons thick yogurt (hung curd preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon besan (gram flour)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil

For the Green Chutney

  • 1 cup fresh coriander leaves (tightly packed)
  • ½ cup fresh mint leaves (tightly packed)
  • 2 green chilies (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt

For the Wrap

  • 4-6 soft rotis, parathas, or flour tortillas
  • Thinly sliced onions
  • Sliced cucumbers and tomatoes (optional)
  • Butter or ghee for toasting
  • Tomato ketchup (optional)

Preparation & Cooking Time

  • Prep: 15 minutes
  • Marination: 30 minutes to 1 hour
  • Cooking: 10-15 minutes
  • Total: ~1 hour
  • Serves: 4 wraps

Method

1. Marinate the Paneer

In a bowl, whisk yogurt, besan, ginger-garlic paste, spices, lemon juice, salt, and oil. Add paneer cubes, toss gently to coat well. Marinate 30 mins or more.

2. Prepare Green Chutney

Blend coriander, mint, green chilies, lemon juice, cumin, salt, and yogurt in a blender to a smooth paste. Keep chilled.

3. Cook Paneer Tikka

Heat a non-stick pan or grill pan. Add marinated paneer cubes and cook on medium heat for 7–10 minutes, turning often, until paneer is golden and slightly charred.

4. Assemble Wrap

Warm rotis or tortillas, spread a layer of green chutney. Add cooked paneer tikka, sprinkle sliced onions, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Drizzle ketchup if desired.

5. Roll & Toast

Roll the wrap tightly. Optionally, pan-toast with butter for a crisp outside for 2 minutes.

Tips for the Perfect Paneer Tikka Wrap

  • Use hung curd/yogurt for thicker marinade that sticks well.
  • Adjust green chili amounts for mild or spicy variations.
  • Fresh herbs in chutney brighten the flavors—don’t skip!
  • For vegan version, substitute tofu and dairy yogurt/chutney alternatives.
  • Toast wrapped roti lightly to seal and enhance texture.

Making paneer tikka wraps is always a weekend favorite with my family. The kids love helping marinate the paneer and stacking all the fresh veggies and chutneys in their wraps. It turns into a fun activity and a delicious meal that everyone looks forward to sharing.
