Tips for Best Sweet Potato Tikkis
- Use well-drained sweet potatoes to prevent soggy tikkis; adjust flour to achieve easy shaping.
- Customize by adding spinach, grated carrot, corn, or broccoli for extra nutrition.
- For extra crispiness, dust with a thin layer of breadcrumbs before frying.
- Tikkis can be baked for a lower-oil version—brush lightly with oil and bake at 200°C for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.
Sweet Potato Tikkis have been a household staple since my childhood—my mother made them for tea-time, and now my kids love making their own shapes before pan-frying. The combination of sweet potatoes and spices is warm, comforting, and always brings our family together for a quick snack after a long day.
